Runaway teens from Detroit return home safe

DETROIT – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding two missing teens who ran away together.

UPDATE: Both teens returned home safe Saturday.

Nicole Allen, 13, and Laila Taylor, 15 ran away together and have not been seen since Friday evening.

According to police, Nicole got into an argument with her mother as they were driving home from school when she got out of the vehicle and began walking eastbound on Joy Road, near Schaeffer Highway. Shortly afterwards, Nicole met up with Laila, and the girls have not returned home.

Nicole is described as black, 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 130 pounds, with braided hair and wearing glasses with tape on the side. She was last seen wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt and basketball shorts.

Laila is described as black, 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and straight black hair. She was last seen wearing a royal blue Michael Kors coat, burgundy-striped shirt, burgundy pants and black rain boots.

Both girls are in good physical and mental condition.
