Police search for suspects in string of dollar store robberies

Duo wanted for robbing 3 stores on 4 occasions

DETROIT – Police have identified a suspect in a string of armed robberies at dollar stores on Detroit’s west side.

Darryl Smith was named as a suspect in the robberies.

According to police, Smith and another man robbed three stores on four different occasions.

The duo is said to have robbed the Family Dollar store in the 22200 block of Grand River Avenue on June 11 and June 17. They are also believed to have robbed the Dollar Tree in the 21300 block of Grand River Avenue on June 13 and another Family Dollar store in the 19100 block of Telegraph Road on June 18.

Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

Smith is described as black, light complexion, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and is bald. He is pictured below.

The other suspect is black, dark complexion, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and has a short afro.
