GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Police say parole absconder Matthew Brunn, who has been named a person of interest in the killing of an 81-year-old man, is in custody.
Brunn was at a known drug house at around 1:30 Saturday when he was assaulted and ran away on foot. He went to a Coney Island near Gratiot Avenue and Cadillac Avenue, where customers say he was injured and called 911.
Brunn admitted he was a parole absconder when the officers arrived, and he was taken into custody.
He will remain in Wayne County until Monday, when he'll be transferred to Kent County.
Authorities say Brunn moved to Macomb County when he was paroled in late 2013, and they had reason to believe he went back to that area.
