Police searching for six men involved in robberies at gas station on Detroit's west side

DETROIT – Police are searching for six men wanted in connection to several unarmed robberies at a gas station on Detroit’s west side.

Both robberies happened March 22 at a Marathon gas station in the 3300 block of Puritan Avenue.

The first happened at about 2:30 a.m. Three men approached a 23-year-old man and put him in a choke hold, stealing his wallet and cash. The three men fled in a silver Chevrolet Malibu.

An hour later, two of the three suspects returned to the gas station  with three other men and assaulted a 24-year-old man with his 21-year-old sister. Two of the men pretended to grab drinks from the coolers before sucker-punching the man, stealing his wallet and taking his sister’s cellphone. The 24-year-old victim suffered minor injuries and refused treatment. The men fled in a with Chevrolet Caprice and in a black Pontiac Firebird. The Caprice was later recovered.
