Man wanted in connection to 3 stabbings in custody

GARDEN CITY, Mich. – The homeless man wanted in connection to an incident in which three people were stabbed in the 28800 block of Pardo on Street Saturday night is in Garden City police custody.

Police wanted to question Marlin Jermaine Day in connection to the stabbings, which happened at around 10 p.m. Saturday. Police found three people with stab wounds at an apartment complex in the area.

Witnesses and victims told police that a 24-year-old woman who lives in the complex arrived in her car and was attacked and beaten without provocation. Her screams brought out other residents, three of whom were stabbed while trying to help the woman.

A 45-year-old woman, who is a sister of the person of interest, was stabbed in the hand. A 21-year-old man was stabbed in the arm and a 60-year-old woman who was babysitting at the complex was stabbed in the head.

Police say none of the injuries are life threatening.
