WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Waterford Township man is charged with attempted murder.
Police said he tried to kill his own mother.

According to investigators, Adam Lutz, 45, handcuffed the 78-year-old woman to the outside of a car. Lutz is accused of leaving her in an enclosed garage with the car's motor running.
She managed to free herself after 4 hours and called police, who arrested Lutz.
He is charged with assault with intent to murder and attempted murder.
