A Detroit-area lawyer is the lone challenger to 16 Wayne County judges Tuesday.
Voters will have an opportunity to choose up to 16 candidates in one judicial race. There are 17 names: the 16 incumbent judges and a challenger, Joseph V. Brennan.
The 16 with the most votes will be winners.
Brennan has been a lawyer since 1981. He says he's running because he believes some judges are unfit for the Wayne County bench.
Brennan says he has a shoestring campaign because most lawyers don't want to give financial support to a candidate who's running against incumbent judges. He's relying heavily on social media and got an endorsement from The Detroit News.
