LIVONIA, Mich. -

A former staffer of then-U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter has been arraigned on charges she participated in a scheme to submit false signatures on the lawmaker's nominating petitions.

Lorianne O'Brady appeared Wednesday in Livonia District Court and was released on a $1,000 personal bond.

The office of Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette says O'Brady and co-defendants Don Yowchuang, and Paul Seewald are due back in court Sept. 18.

Schuette says the McCotter campaign workers faked ballot petition signatures that ultimately forced the Livonia Republican to resign.

Ex-McCotter aide Mary Turnbull also is charged in the case.

It's unknown if O'Brady has a lawyer, and there's no listed phone number for her in the Livonia area.
