LANSING, Mich. – State Rep. Harvey Santana, D-Detroit, has been stripped of his committee assignments for repeated "inappropriate conduct" on the House floor.

"I agreed to Rep. Hammel's request because of Rep. Santana's continual inappropriate and unprofessional conduct toward fellow Democratic caucus members and his disregard for the decorum of the House of Representatives, neither of which will be tolerated," said Bolger, R-Marshall.

Santana is being removed from the Transportation Committee and Energy & Tech Committee.

The committee assignment changes will be effective as soon as a letter from the Speaker is read into the record during House session on Tuesday.
