A Michigan group of spouses of those serving in the armed forces will be represented in next month's inaugural parade in Washington, D.C.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee began sending out invitations Tuesday to participants chosen to march behind President Barack Obama from his swearing in at the Capitol to the White House on Jan. 21. The first selectees include the group Military Spouses of Michigan.

The application process was run by the military, beginning in October before the election and continuing through the end of last month.
