Oakland County says 1-page ballots are saving taxpayers $275,000
County says it has also met absentee ballot deadlines
Oakland County says it's saving taxpayers $275,000 by keeping ballots to one page and turning absentee ballots in on time.
“Saving the taxpayers money is a top priority for our office,” said County Clerk Bull Bullard. “The avoidance of two-page ballots in Oakland County will save hundreds of thousands of dollars and reduce confusion and opportunities for errors. I am pleased and proud of the good work of our team.”
Ballots must be available for military and overseas voters at least 45 days prior to an election in order meet federal guidelines. The county added that it had met that deadline and that local clerks will be in the process of mailing ballots to voters this week.
