DETROIT -

Vice President Joe Biden was campaigning in Michigan on Wednesday.

He arrived at Detroit's Westin Book-Cadillac Hotel late Tuesday night.

Biden spoke at Detroit Renaissance High School Wednesday afternoon about the choice voters have in the upcoming election and how Republican candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate, Paul Ryan, would return the country to failed policies of the past.

Biden warned more than 1,000 people at the school that presumed Republican presidential nominee Romney and running Ryan are ready to repeal Wall Street reform and make cuts to health care if they win the White House in November.

Biden visited Detroit on July29, speaking to 2,500 delegates at the annual convention of the 1.5 million-member American Federation of Teachers.

No campaign appearances are planned by either President Obama or Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

However, Ryan is expected to visit the area on Friday. Sources say he will attend a fundraising event at Oakland Hills Country Club. The event chairs are Peter and Danielle Karmanos and Kid Rock.

Kid Rock endorsed Romney during the primary campaign earlier this year.
