DETROIT – Benny Napoleon and Mike Duggan have been at it for months - campaigning in homes and businesses.
With just days left before the election, they're taking their campaigns into overdrive.
Mike Duggan told Local 4, "I'm hitting churches tomorrow and several neighborhoods on Monday."
Benny Napoleon said, "I'm out and about every day. I'm going out to the last voter."
Saturday afternoon Duggan hosted a barbeque at his childhood home in Detroit while Napoleon connected with voters at beauty salons. Both men know the political playbook in the final days of a campaign. Neither candidate is new to running for office.
Benny Napoleon said, "I've been through a few elections so it's what I expected. It is a little different because of previous elections that I have actually been on the ballot have been county wide."
Mike Duggan said, "This city is going to wake up on Tuesday and decide if it wants change or it doesn't."
After months on the campaign trail - we wanted to know what Napoleon and Duggan have learned about the city and its people.
Mike Duggan said, "I think most people in the city are fed up with police not showing up, the street lights not being on and the abandoned houses not being dealt with."
Benny Napoleon said, "It taught me that Detroit is a very special place. People are really concerned about its future."
