Michigan's GOP Primary is Tuesday

Santorum campaigns in west Michigan; Romney in Oakland County; Paul in Dearborn; Gingrich not in state

DETROIT – Mitt Romney was campaigning with Kid Rock in Oakland County while Rick Santorum spent the night before Michigan's Republican Primary campaigning in Kalamazoo.

Ron Paul was in Dearborn.

All three Republican presidential candidates will have a part in Tuesday's primary despite the polls showing it is a two-man races between Romney and Santorum.

Only candidate Newt Gingrich was not in Michigan on Monday night and has not been actively campaigning in the state.

Virtually every top member of the Michigan GOP, such as Gov. Rick Snyder, has come out for Romney.

Romney said he will cut taxes across the board by 20 percent for every American. Introduced by Romney, Kid Rock came out and performed his hit "Born Free" in front of the crowd in Royal Oak.

Polls show Santorum does very well on the west side of the state where he told a crowd in Kalamazoo "I think we're gonna surprise a few people tomorrow night."

Meanwhile, Paul continued his stay in Metro Detroit by speaking in Dearborn Monday night.

The push and pressure can be felt in an effort to mobilize voters.

While Santorum strongly appeals to social conservative voters and evangelicals, Monday night was all about who shows up at the polls.

That might come down to whether Democrats decide to cross over and vote for either Santorum or Paul.

There are several social media campaigns online urging for Democrats to cross over. Plus, the Santorum campaign confirms it is behind a series of robocalls urging Democrats to come out and vote for Santorum.
