ROCHESTER, Mich. – A line wrapped around the building most of Monday night as 6,000 people crammed into the Athletics Center O'rena on the Oakland University campus to hear the Republican vice presidential candidate speak.
Mitt Romney's running mate, Paul Ryan, brought the Republican road show to Oakland County. Michigan is a state the party still believes is up for grabs.

There were still about 1,000 people waiting in line when the event began. The crowd was ready for Kid Rock, who is endorsing Romney and Paul.
Ryan took the stage for about 1/2 hour. He went over everything from the auto industry to what he says the Romney/Ryan ticket has to offer.
"Look, after getting the run around for 4 years, it's time we have a turn around, and we have a man who knows how to turn things around," Ryan said. "We have a jobs crisis. Wouldn't it be nice to have a job creator in the White House for a change?"
The speech had a heavy emphasis on Midwestern roots and firing the crowd up to push for victory in Michigan and beyond.
It was Ryan's last public appearance before he debates Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday in Kentucky.
