DEARBORN, Mich. – Long lines and frustrated voters defined some of this morning's voting when polls opened at 7 a.m.
At Brennan Hall in Dearborn, doors didn't open until 7:20 a.m.
A long line of voters say they got more frustrated once the doors did open and it was clear the election officials inside weren't ready.
"Ballots were still in boxes. The ladies didn't know where to send you and they didn't know how to turn the computers on." Isabella Rowan told Local 4.
Election workers rushed over from another precinct to get the polling place up and running.
At Miller Elementary in Dearborn, it was smooth sailing for voters by 9 a.m.
Prior to that, the early crush of voters say there was a wait and the precinct only has 4 voting booths.
"They told us they weren't able to get more," One voter told Local 4 via Twitter.
In Oak Park, an interesting and frustrating situation is developing.
Pepper Elementary is home to Precinct No. 3 and Precinct No. 4. Voters going to #3 are getting in, casting their ballots and getting out. Voters for Precinct No. 4, inside the same building are waiting up to three hours.
Voters called the Oak Park manager in to help. Erik Tungate tells Local 4 that when Oak Park consolidated 19 precincts into 10 precincts, it's created the back-up we're seeing today.
Extra tables were brought into the hallways to allow voters to cast ballots.
