Westland mayor weighs run for Wayne County executive

Mayor Bill Wild on Mackinac Island to test the political waters

WESTLAND, Mich. – Westland Mayor Bill Wild is weighing a run for Wayne County executive.

The 45-year-old Democrat was testing the waters at the Mackinac Policy Conference this week.

He's reportedly getting a team together to explore the idea of running against Executive Robert Ficano.

Wild has been the mayor of Westland for seven years.

Ficano has not officially announced his decision on running again.

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing is also considering a run for Wayne County Executive.
