DETROIT – Despite a high unfavorable rating, Hillary Clinton leads her prospective Republican challengers in hypothetical match-ups against major Republican competitors in Michigan according to exclusive Local 4/Detroit News poll.
The survey, conducted by the Glengariff Group, interviewed a representative sample of 600 Michigan voters.
Clinton had the highest unfavorable name recognition among the major 2016 candidates with 47% having an unfavorable opinion of the former first lady and Secretary of State.
Jeb Bush was viewed unfavorably by 42% of voters, followed by Rand Paul at 36%, Marco Rubio at 26%, and Scott Walker at 22%.
However, Clinton leads the race for Michigan's 16 electoral votes when voters were asked about prospective match-ups between Clinton and the top Republicans.
Against Bush, Clinton was favored 46%-37%.
Against Rubio, Clinton was favored 42%-39%.
Against Paul, Clinton was favored 45%-41%.
Against Walker, Clinton was favored 44%-37%.
