PONTIAC, Mich. -

A 15-year-old Pontiac teen is recovering after being run over by a car while “hood surfing” Friday.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said the teen jumped onto the hood of a car that was being driven by a 16-year-old classmate at the Pontiac Academy of Excellence.

The car pulled out of the school’s parking lot and was going about 30 mph before it slowed down for a stop sign, which sent the teen tumbling to the ground.

The teen was run over by the car and suffered injuries to his head, arms and legs -- but he was last listed in stable condition.

It wasn’t immediately known if any charges would be issued.

It was the last day of school for the students.
