WATERFORD -

What started as a prank is going to end up costing one driver.

Waterford police say, Saturday night, they were conducting traffic enforcement near Highland Road and Pontiac Lake Road when a car drove by them. The passenger yelled obscenities and profanities at the officers as they spoke with a driver they had pulled over.

Benjamin Jonas, 34, of Waterford was pulled over several blocks away, but denied yelling at the officers. While speaking with Jonas, the officers say he exhibited signs he had been drinking.

He was arrested for Driving under the Influence.  His passenger was issued a citation for Disorderly Conduct.
