DETROIT – An 8-month-pregnant woman was shot early Tuesday morning on Detroit's southwest side.
Police said the woman, who has a history of prostitution, was attacked by a man while in a black pickup truck near Morrell and Fort streets.
Police said she was shot in the side trying to get away from the man and called for help on her cell phone.
She was found behind a dumpster in the parking lot of a Chase Bank in that area and taken to the hospital.
Her condition wasn't immediately known.
Police have suspect in shooting
Detroit police said Tuesday afternoon that a suspect has been taken into custody.
