Prosecutors are expected to begin presenting evidence against a Michigan woman accused of deceiving people into believing she had life-threatening cancer.
Sara Ylen is returning to court Tuesday in Sanilac County, 90 miles northeast of Detroit. A judge must decide whether there's probable cause to put the 38-year-old Lexington woman on trial.
Ylen points to several doctors who said she had cancer, but state police say none made that diagnosis.
She's charged with a computer crime, health care fraud and false pretenses. Her church raised money for her, one of many fundraisers in the area. Ylen also benefited from sympathetic stories in the Port Huron Times Herald.
Separately, in St. Clair County, she faces a future trial on a charge of making a false report of rape.
