Farina known for role on 'Law & Order'

DETROIT – According to the Associated Press, "Law & Order" star Dennis Farina has died at the age of 69. The cause of death is not known at this time.

Farina was a former Chicago police officer turned actor, often typecast as a mobster or police officer. His most known films are those of mobster Jimmy Serrano in the comedy "Midnight Run" and Ray Barboni in "Get Shorty". He starred on TV as Detective Joe Fontana on "Law & Order".
