Puppy with chemical burns rescued from street in Detroit

Boxer mix being cared for at vet after being rescued by Michigan Animal Crew

DETROIT – A 3-week-old puppy is recovering from what appears to be chemical burns on its back after being found abandoned on a Detroit street.

According to the Michigan Animal Crew, the puppy was picked up by its rescuers after a woman posted on Facebook about finding the puppy on a street on the northwest side of the city.

The rescue group took the 2-pound puppy to Dworkis Dog & Cat Hospital in Southfield, where he underwent surgery for his infected wounds.

The puppy, a boxer mix, has been named Chance.

An online fund has been set up for his vet costs on YouCaring.com.
