Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin back at work on new album
No health problems, Aretha says " all is good"
Detroit's legendary Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin is going back in the recording studio, working on a new collection of songs.
She met with the news reporters Wednesday in Southfield.
The project was supposed to begin back in July, but health problems delayed it. Aretha now says those health problems are gone.
"Everything is good now and I'm good to go," Franklin said.
She will take a break this weekend, to travel to New York for a party for fashion designed Marc Jacobs. And Aretha Franklin is ready to party.
"There's going to be a huge party there. I need a party, honey. After what I've been through, I need a party," Franklin said.
Aretha will be working on her new album with producers Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Don Was, a native Detroiter who has produced albums for many other stars.
"He did a lot of the Bonnie Raitt stuff that garnered her a lot of Grammys , so come on with that Grammy stuff, Don. I'm waiting for you," Franklin said.
