DETROIT - Before getting to the forecast, just a quick thanks to all of you who pinned photos Wednesday afternoon on the exclusive Local 4 Storm Pins app (if you were watching Local 4 News at 5 & 6, you saw some of those photos on the air).
Chuck Gaidica and I were watching as you posted the photos all afternoon, and this really painted a graphic picture of what you were seeing...which we don't see on our radar, of course.
If you haven't done so already, you should download the FREE Storm Pins app. Just search under WDIV in the app store, and you'll see it right there. Once you register, you can pin photos or ten second videos, and even post a comment with your photo or video telling us what you are reporting.
Something else to remember is that ALL of you registered users can see each other's pins. It's not just for us in the Local 4 Weather Office. So when severe storms are crossing the area, you can instantly see what those storms are doing to others before it hits you.
Finally, our local National Weather Service Office is also monitoring your pins -- so between us at Local 4 and our friends at the National Weather Service, your reports someday will save lives. Download the app now, because we have several more days of stormy weather in the forecast.

Tonight, expect just a few spotty showers or thundershowers, although I don't expect any severe weather. Lows in the mid 60s.
I think any overnight showers and thundershowers will largely be gone by Thursday morning, leaving us with morning clouds, and then partly cloudy skies for the afternoon. Highs near 80. Northeast wind at 5 to 10 mph. Partly cloudy Thursday night, with lows in the low 60s.
Friday starts dry, then showers and thunderstorms develop -- probably late afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s as we kick off River Days! It won't rain all day every day this weekend, so track the weather on our Local 4 Weather App radar page, and come on downtown! Shower and thunderstorm chances continue Friday night, with lows in the low to mid 60s.
We still have shower and thunderstorm potential over the weekend, but there will be dry periods each day as well. It's just impossible with this type of weather pattern to nail down the timing yet. However, it appears to me that the rain chance on Saturday is pretty small...hopefully we can keep the entire day dry. Highs both days in the upper 70s to near 80.
A chance of showers and thunderstorms on Monday, but it's still way too early to get specific as to the timing and geographic distribution. Stay tuned...I'll keep you updated on the Fireworks forecast! Of course, the weather is never a problem if you watch Local 4's exclusive coverage! Highs Monday in the upper 70s.
We still have a rain chance on Tuesday, and then it appears as if we'll start drying out on Wednesday.
