DETROIT – Former Detroit city attorney Krystal Crittendon has formed an exploratory committee to run for mayor of Detroit.
This comes just a week after the Detroit City Council fired Crittendon for going "rogue" and acting against the wishes of the mayor

"I think I have some qualities that I can bring to the race that the other candidates don't have," said Crittendon.
Bing had previously asked Crittendon to resign from her position, arguing she exceeded her authority when she penned the lawsuit aimed to derail the city's agreement with the state.
"This stand has energized the people of the city of Detroit. There are so many people who come up to me and say, you know we need you, can we help you," she said.
Crittendon made her announcement just after 7 a.m. Monday to Mildred Gaddis on AM 1200/WCHB.
"Her greatest challenge will be getting Detroiters to know who she is and in addition to that a lot of Detroiters are asking why are you getting into this race," said Gaddis
"There are always going to be people who say you know negative things. There are also going to be people who say positive things I guess I am a glass half full type of girl," said Crittendon.
