Red Wings fall to Blue Jackets in shootout

Detroit lost its 2nd game in as many nights to Columbus, 3-2 in shootout Sunday

DETROIT – The Red Wings were looking for revenge Sunday in the home-and-home series with the Blue Jackets, but it was the visitors who came away with the 3-2 shootout victory at Joe Louis Arena.

Columbus' Ryan Johansen and Matt Calvert both scored in the shootout; Pavel Datsyuk was the only Red Wing to score in the shootout.

The Blue Jackets beat the Wings 3-0 in Columbus Saturday night. They took nine points out of a possible ten in this season series.

Derick Brassard and R.J. Umberger both scored for Columbus.

Jakub Kindl and Johan Franzen scored for the Wings.

Datsyuk's shootout goal was his 32nd all-time since the shootout was instituted, that's good for the league lead.
