CULVER CITY, Calif. -

Published reports out Friday say that two Oakland University basketball players are accused of rape.

TMZ says the players, 23-year-old Duke Mondy and 20-year-old Dante Williams, were arrested inside a Culver City, California hotel.

The players have been released to the university and will not be charged, according to coach Greg Kampe. The coach said Mondy and Williams already have been suspended from the team because they broke team rules. The university is conducting its own internal investigation. California law enforcement won't pursue any formal charges.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office says they reviewed the case but declined to file charges based on insufficient evidence.

TMZ says the alleged victim is a woman in her 20s. The website claims the woman called 911 around 5 a.m. Thursday to report she'd been raped inside the Culver City hotel.

Oakland University players are in California to play in Friday night's Maui Invitational.

The school released the following statement:

We are awaiting confirmation from local California authorities on the facts of the situation.  When we receive those facts we will release a statement.
