Max's owner, Michele Bahl, told the paper the pup is a "Rottweiler trapped in a Yorkie body" and isnt' afraid to venture out of their yard to chase groundhogs.

Some girls in the neighborhood heard the dog's cries, and with the help of another neighbor, tracked down Bahl.

Rescuers were able to pull the dog out within minutes, where he was wrapped up and taken home.
