Residents bound with duct tape while Harper Woods home ransacked

HARPER WOODS, Mich. – Residents were bound with duct tape in their Harper Woods home Friday night while three men ransacked the house, according to police.

The incident happened on the 20400 block of Woodland Street around 10:30 p.m.

Three men forced their way into the home at gunpoint.  The occupants were bound with duct tape and locked in a closet.

The men stole money, jewelry and other valuable items, as well as the homeowner's Cadillac Escalade which was later recovered in Detroit unoccupied.

While locked in the closet, one of the victims texted a relative for help. The relative immediately contacted police.

Officers arrived at the home and freed the victims.  The robbers had already left.

The men were described as three black men, early teens, all wearing masks and dark clothing.
