A 31-year-old Holly resident was operating a 1999 Chrysler Town & Country on southbound Ortonville Road when it got into the left turn lane at Wolfe Road.

The driver of the Chrysler attempted to turn left into a private driveway, but turned in front of El-Shamaa -- who was going northbound on Ortonville Road.

El-Shamaa's car was then propelled across the lanes and hit a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck head-on.  The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado is a 33-year-old, Conroe Texas resident.

El-Shamaa and the Conroe Texas resident were seriously injured in the crash. They were transported to Genesys Hospital.

El-Shamaa was pronounced dead at Genesys Hospital at 9:21 a.m.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the Chrysler had four children in the vehicle, all under the age of 6.

The driver and the children were not injured in the crash.

Alcohol and/or cell phone use does not appear to have been a factor in this crash.

All occupants of vehicles involved were wearing seat belts.

The crash had Ortonville Road closed at Wolfe Road for about two hours.
