$2,500 reward is offered by Crimestoppers to anyone with info regarding the person who shot and killed Frano Juncaj

DETROIT – A cash reward of up to $2,500 is being offered by Crime Stoppers to anyone with information on the identity of the person who shot and killed Coney Island owner Frano Juncaj earlier this month.

Authorities are searching for the person responsible for the Sept. 1 shooting at the corner of Schaefer Highway and South Ethel Street in Southwest Detroit.

According to police, the shooting stemmed from an attempted robbery, and the culprit fled the store after the shooting.  

Juncaj, 59, co-owned the restaurant with his brother, Tony Juncaj, for more than 35 years.

Police said the shooter entered the store through the front door which Juncaj left  open to give regulars prompt service.
