DETROIT -

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the hit-and-run driver who struck a 6-year-old Detroit boy on the city's east side.

Deshawn White in pool

Deshawn White has been in critical condition since the Oct. 9 incident at East Warren and St. Clair streets.

White was waiting for a school bus with his brother when he was hit by a gray or silver sedan.

"We were crossing the street. The car was flying ... she wasn't trying to stop. She didn't blow the horn or nothing, she just kept going. Crashed, hit him and he flew in the air, and then I tried to help him up. He wouldn't get up. He wouldn't wake up," said DeAndre White.

The 6-year-old is a student at Hutchins Howell Elementary-Middle School.

Police have released this picture of the possible car that hit Deshawn.
