DETROIT – Detroit police are investigating an apparent smash-and-grab robbery at shoe store on the city's east side.
Early Monday morning, a pickup truck smashed through a steel guard gate at "Villa," which is at 13200 Jefferson Avenue.

Police said the store's safe and several pairs of shoes were stolen.
