DETROIT – A semi truck smashed into a marijuana dispensary Monday night on 8 Mile Road at Revere Avenue.
The driver of truck lost control and crashed through a fence and into King Seaweed. The driver was trapped inside his rig for a while. He was rescued and treated.
Witnesses tried to help before emergency responders arrived. An off-duty Detroit police officer entered the building and helped get the driver out.
No other injuries were reported. The dispensary was closed when the truck hit it, and no one was inside.
Eight Mile Road was reduced to one lane as crews worked to clear debris. A utility pole was snapped during the crash, sending a live wire to the ground.
