Settlement still not reached in Washington Township mansion battle

Homeowners in 9-year battle over house's deed restriction violation

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A decision in a 9-year-long dispute between Washington Township homeowners has been pushed back.

Talks during a hearing Tuesday went on for hours, but no agreement was reached.

Another hearing has been scheduled for July 30.

Neighbors say that in 2004 the 9,000-square-foot house in the Lockwood Hills development was built too close to the house next door, placing the structure in violation of deed restrictions.
