ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. -

A 2006 Ford Mustang heading westbound on Clarkston Road crossed the center line hitting a Chrysler Town and Country van that was traveling eastbound Saturday evening.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department, the 68-year-old driver of the van and his wife were taken to McLaren Hospital and are in stable condition. Both are residents of Orion Township.

The 45-year-old driver of the Mustang, a Oxford Township resident, had three passengers. The driver and a 38 year old rear seat passenger were taken to McLaren Hospital and listed in stable condition.

Another rear seat passenger, a 40-year-old from Orion Township, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Pontiac. He's in stable condition.

A 43-year-old front seat passenger from Independence Township was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont via helicopter and is in stable condition as well.

Deputies report alcohol and or drugs appear to be a factor in the crash. Seat belts were used by everyone except those rear seat passengers in the Mustang.

This crash remains under investigation.
