Six students were arrested at Taft Digital Learning Center in Detroit for fighting with other students, school staff, and police officers.

The initial fight broke out in the cafeteria/gym of the school between two female students Thursday.

During that fight an administrative staff member attempted to break things up when a 15-year-old female students punched him and stomped on his leg.

The staffer’s leg was broken during the assault.

Additional fights then broke out at the school. The school resource officer observed two men fighting near the entrance of the center.

A school staff member was already trying to break up that fight when a student started punching him. The officer tried to stop the student from assaulting the employee and a struggle ensued.

Another officer arrived, and eventually the officers and the employee were able to handcuff the adult student and arrest him.

Three students were arrested and charged as adults, they include: Deante Ryan Sullivan, 17, Joyce Antoinette Robinson, 19, and Yolanda Marie Dinkins age 17.

Three juvenile students were taken into custody and turned over to their parents. Charges on the juveniles will be determined at a later date.
