Metro Detroit under winter weather advisory until 9 p.m.

Southeast Michigan is under a winter weather advisory until 9 p.m.

The advisory is for the following counties: Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Sanilac and St. Clair.

Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility.

Brandon Roux's forecast:

Be careful! No big snows but light snow through the morning and then a midday break.

Highs hit the mid 30s with winds picking up W 10-17 mph gusting stronger at times. Light snow showers return to Metro Detroit this afternoon and evening. All in all, look for a total today of a dusting to about 1” of new.

Cold air moves in overnight and tomorrow with steady winds and that means the lake effect snow showers will stay on.

Light snow again Wednesday with temps only in the mid 20s feeling like teens with those breezes NW 5-15mph.

A dry but cold day on Thursday with flurries and partly sunny skies. A few snow showers will be around Friday and look for a cool Winter Blast in Motown this weekend.
