LANSING, Mich. - A soldier with the Michigan Army National Guard has been tapped to sing during the seventh inning of game three of the World Series.
Staff Sgt. Amy Gould will sing "God Bless America" at Comerica Park in Detroit on Oct. 27.
Gould works as a civilian contractor for the Military Personnel Services Corporation as a family assistance center specialist, but she has plenty of experience taking center stage.
Most recently, Gould performed the National Anthem at Governor Rick Snyder's inauguration ceremony and at a Toby Keith concert in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The vocalist holds a degree in vocal music performance from Michigan State University and attended the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
Gould has been a member of the 126 Army Band at the Grand Valley Armory since 2004.
Gould has performed with the band at concerts and ceremonies throughout the past eight years. She has performed as a soloist with the Grand Rapids Symphonic Band and as a member of the Muskegon Camerata Singers. Gould has also sung as a member of the Grand Rapids Opera Chorus.
