DETROIT -

Local 4 has learned that two men are in custody in connection for the fatal shooting of a security guard in a CVS parking lot last week.

A Detroit police source said the suspects, a 19-year-old and a 25-year-old, were arrested Sunday.

Courtney Meeks was killed last Wednesday when he rushed out into the parking lot of the store on Schaefer and 6 Mile roads to help a mother and her 6-year-old son who were being carjacked.

The mother, who asked that her name not be released, said she screamed for help and Meeks came running to help.

Surveillance video shows the mother and her son running to safety before one of the carjackers opened fire, killing Meeks.
