SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Southfield police said they've made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a woman earlier this year at a lounge.
Nicole Riggs was killed March 31 when she was hit by gunfire at Myst Ultra Lounge.
She was at the club with relatives attending a birthday party when a group of men were kicked out of the club for fighting.
While in the parking lot, the men fired several shots.
Police had issued an arrest warrant in May for 33-year-old Deangelo Jammal Eady. They said he was arrested Thursday.
He's charged with open murder, possession of a firearm, possession by a felon and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Victim leaves behind family
Leon Riggs had been married to Nicole for 10 years. He says she was a loving mother.
"I have to explain to my 13-year-old now that his mother is never coming home," he said.
Leon Riggs says his wife was an innocent bystander and she had nothing to do with the fight. He says she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
