A statewide crackdown on drunk driving is set for the week surrounding the 4th of July holiday.
Law enforcement agencies from across Michigan are teaming up for the "Drunk Driving. Over The Limit. Under Arrest." crackdown, which runs from July 1 through July 8. Patrols will be boosted to target drunk drivers on the roads. Certain roads and highways will receive more attention than others, according to the Office of Highway Safety Planning.
Twenty-six counties in the state are taking part in the extra patrols, which are federally funded.
