Stephen Tulloch to adopt 55 Detroit schools

DETROIT – Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch plans to adopt 55 Detroit schools as part of Operation 55.

By adopting these schools, Tulloch will help the teachers and staff get much needed supplies that they would, otherwise, go without.

"Sine I've been in Detroit the city has became my second home. I've went into schools around town, visited different high schools and I've seen that there are always things the schools can use or need to improve the learning environment for the students," said Tulloch. "We came up with the idea this off-season to raise money and put these funds into the schools here in Detroit. By buying new computers or supplying books in a classroom not only will [it] help the current  students but, [it] will be there for students to use in the years to come. Education is very important to me and I hope that this effort will be able to make a large impact here on these 55 schools we select to help."

Starting in September, Tulloch will select schools and help supply things like books, computers, learning programs, kitchen essentials and athletic equipment.

If your school is a Detroit Public School and you'd like to be adopted by Tulloch please email the following information to The Stephen Tulloch Foundation:

  • Your name, contact information, position or affiliation with the school you are applying for
  • Principal of the school's name, address, and contact information
  • Information about your school. Why should you be chosen?
  • Wish list of items your school is requesting and what they are going to be used for

To be selected the information must be emailed to info@Tulloch55.com. Phone calls will not be counted or considered as an official request. If your school is chosen, you will be contacted by the Stephen Tulloch Foundation.

Operation 55 was launched in 2011 when Tulloch signed with the Lions. The goal of the program is to help as many people as possible and provide children in Metro Detroit the opportunity to experience a Lions home game.
