The letter says a female student on her way to school in Sterling Heights was followed by a man driving a white cargo van with no windows.
The incident happened shortly after 7 a.m. in the area of Chicago Road and Wixson Drive in the city of Warren.
The man, described as light skinned with dark hair, got out of his van and approached the girl.
The girl yelled to other students in the area and the man returned to his van and left.
