Substitute teacher at St. Clair Shores high school accused of sexually assaulting 14-year-old girl

27-year-old Eastpointe man faces 5 counts of criminal sexual conduct

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – A 27-year-old substitute teacher  is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old female student at South Lake High School in St. Clair Shores.

Curtis Michling, of Eastpointe, was arrested May 4 after police investigated the claim. Police say it doesn't appear that ther assault took place at the high school or during a school-associated activity.

Michling is charged with five counts of criminal sexual conduct of the 1st degree. He was arraigned on Wednesday. Bond was set at $200,000 cash/surety. He is being held at the Macomb County Jail and is scheduled to be in court May 15 for a preliminary examination conference.

Police say Michling was a substitute teacher contracted by South Lake Public Schools through Professional Educational Services Group, LLC.
