DETROIT - It's the first weekend of summer and it sure does feel like it. The hot weather is not keeping everyone indoors and of course a little bit of summer heat can't keep Tigers fans away from the ball park.
"I'm probably going to drink a lot of water," said Tigers fan Joel Dawson.
"It's Sunday. It's my day off. I'm relaxing in the sun," said Nicole Cheatom.
We found fans heading into Comerica Park this afternoon to watch the Tigers take on the Red Sox. "It's awesome. Nice tanning weather. Plenty of H2O so we stay hydrated. Going to enjoy the game, love my Tigers," said Dana Cheatom.
"We have been here when it's hotter. It was like 90 one time we came out," said Glenda Atkinson.
Over on the riverfront attendance has been good for the annual River Days Festival despite the 80-plus degree temperature.
"It's hot. It's very hot but the breeze off the water, it's windy," said Tiffany Solomon who attended the festival.
Cindy Jones's dog Andy sought refuge in the shade at the festival, "trying to keep him in the shade. He does not like the heat on the pavement," she said.
For those who say it's too hot. Maybe remembering how cold it was a couple of months ago will help you cool off.
