Ford Arts, Beats & Eats presented by FirstMerit Bank is kicking off its third day. The festival has plenty of events to keep the entire family entertained.
Thousands will head to Royal Oak Sunday for this end of summer tradition.
Monday, September 2, is the last day of Arts, Beats & Eats.
For anyone trying to make it out for the last two days of the festival, here are the times:
Sunday: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Monday: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Arts, Beats & Eats will include a Juried Fine Art Show featuring work from artists across the country. More than 140 artist booths will be part of the show with various media, including: jewelry, metal work, painting, wood and more, along with the work of photographers like West Bloomfield's Rod Carter.
Big named bands and smaller local groups will make up the "beats" portion of the festival. Visitors can expect to see performances by Smash Mouth, Eddie Money, Montgomery Gentry, Soul Asylum, Guster, MC Hammer and others.
The festival wouldn't be complete without the great tastes of metro Detroit cuisine. More than 50 restaurants and caterers will line the streets of Royal Oak. The list includes: Prime 29, Green Lantern, Eskimo Jack’s, Sisro’s Cakery, Mitchell’s Fish Market, Hamlin Corner, Polish Village Café, Pronto!, Palm Palace and many more.
Admission to Ford Arts, Beats & Eats is $3. It is $5 after 5 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit 13 local charities.
