Investigators said Brooke had a relationship with the mother of an 11-year-old girl and had lived in the woman's Mount Clemens home.

Brooks worked as a janitor at Prevail Academy, a charter school the daughter attended in Mount Clemens.

Brooks is accused of getting the girl pregnant. School officials said he was not employed there at the time the incident occurred.

The girl is now 12-years-old and delivered a baby last month.

Sheriff Wickersham said his department made contact with Brooks in mid-August.

"Our investigators had a conversation with him about a week and a-half ago and he was scheduled to come in a week ago today and when he failed to show up, that's when we started to put things in motion and get our case together," Wickersham said.

Deputies stepped up their efforts to locate Brooks.

"Our sheriff's enforcement team they worked hard over this whole Labor Day weekend to track him down and find him," Wickersham said.

When deputies did locate Brooks he offered little resistance.

Brooks is due to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of criminal sexual conduct.

The girl he is accused of assaulting and her infant are in protective custody.
